AKA Pyridoxine

This water soluble vitamin plays a key role in cognitive development through the making of neurotransmitters (the chemicals that allow the brain and our nerve cells to communicate). It also helps us break down and utilize proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. The supplementation of B-6 in autism and sensory cases is still being studied and can be said to be controversial, but more and more studies are showing improvement in over half of the individuals tested and the safety of supplementation is said to improve when combining it with magnesium. The daily recommended amount is 20-60mgs.

You will notice sweet potatoes show up a lot in our lists. That is because they are a super food that contains many essential vitamins and nutrients. They are a much better option than your standard white starchy potato! We love them baked, grilled, mashed, or cut up like French fries and baked in coconut oil.
