We live in a world filled with harmful chemicals and ingredients. While we can’t control everything we encounter on a daily basis; we can make positive changes at home to lower our toxic threshold! Cleaning products can be some of the most dangerous and toxic things we use at home, so I feel this is a great place to make some positive changes.

I know this can be very overwhelming, but its all about taking baby steps. Start with one item at a time. I personally replaced my hand soaps and hair care first. Then, I slowly moved on to skin care items, toothpaste, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, deodorant, and cleaning products. Start reading ingredient labels when purchasing anything, if you can’t read or pronounce it, that means it’s probably made in a lab somewhere and may be harmful.

Ones to avoid

-PEGS (Polyethylene glycol,

ingredients that contain PEG)

-Fluoride based ingredients

-Aluminum based antiperspirants

-Parabens

-SLS

-Triclosan

-Petrolatum

-Artificial colors and flavors (dyes)

-Phthalates

-BHA

-Propylene Glycol

-Fragrances that are not derived from natural essential oils

My favorite all time cleaner that we use for LITERALLY EVERYTHING is the Thieves Household Cleaner from Young Living Essential Oils. They make a very concentrated formula, and all you do is mix it in a spray bottle with water. It’s great on windows, counter tops, floors, bathrooms, any hard surfaces. It smells great and seriously cleans. The essential oils used are naturally anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and totally safe if it gets on your skin, in your eyes, or in your mouth. It’s great if you have kids or pets in the home!

Sometimes there is a little grime in the shower, or you need a little more cleaning power. I go to the old fashion baking soda and lemon juice to make a paste. Leave it on your grout/tile for 10 minutes and scrub off with a brush! Shiny clean, smells great, and again is perfectly safe to work with.

Other cleaners we purchase come from The Honest Company. Their toilet bowl cleaner is great, we also use their dish soap, hand soap, dish washer detergent packs. They have an awesome bundle option that makes everything very affordable and ships right to your door.

These are the only cleaners we use at home and at the office and we are very happy with them! When you start running out of your cleaners, try to buy some of these and see if you are just as happy! Good luck going clean!0915324001566997983.jpg
